Games In Development

I’ve reserved this page for updates on the games I currently have in development. Game creation is more of a hobby than anything else, but I know some of you may be interested in how these projects are progressing. These games will all be released as freeware.

Tobias and the Dark Sceptres

Tobias and the Dark Sceptres is a fantasy platform-action-adventure with large open levels and devilish lateral-thinking puzzles. Programming and design by Adam Butcher. It has been in development for a very long time.


Current Progress:
All playable content is finished. This includes the final boss and every cutscene. What remains is a lot of polish and a lot playtesting, as well as implementing a save system, varying difficulty levels and a hint system. At this very moment I am also improving the platform engine by giving it a complete coding overhaul- this will probably be my largest setback.

Telenaut

Telenaut is a frantic overhead shoot-em-up in which you control a futuristic flying machine on a hostile planet. Features fast-paced arcade-style gameplay reminiscent of Starfox and Rogue Squadron. This is a collaborative work made with Ben Claxton, who creates all the graphics.


Current Progress:
All the levels are finished apart from the final boss. A highscore and medal system have also been implemented, and most levels have been thoroughly playtested. Once the final boss is finished, the content will be drawn together with a menu, map-system, training mode, and a text-based atmospheric storyline. We also hope to include an in-game encyclopedia to help identify enemies and equipment.
